Social Networking Group Assignment
Below is the handout I'll be giving students to complete this part of the assignment. They'll follow the instructions, which will take them to our Edmodo site to get the procedures for most of the assignment. That document is below student handout A.
Instructions for Photo Gathering Assignment

Step 1: Go to http://www.edmodo.com/ and choose "I'm a Student."
- Type in our group code -- ihl01* (the fourth character is a zero.)
- Then create a username and password for yourself. You may want to make it the same one you use to login to the school's computer so you have an easier time remembering it. You DO NOT need to enter an email address.
- You will now see our Geography 706 home page.
- Click on the Procedures for Photo Assignment document I sent the group to see how you should continue.
- If you click the calendar tab at the top of the page you will see when this assignment is due.
- Have fun collecting photos!
Step 2: Go to http://geography706.wikispaces.com/ and login.
- Use the procedures we've practiced to upload photos to your group's page.
- Caption the photos
- Make sure to save any changes you make.

Procedures for Photo Assignment
The purpose of this part of the assignment is to collect photos for the Human Geography portion of our Livability Unit. If you’ve forgotten the criteria for what types of photos you should be collecting, refer back to the handout for your class’s How People Make a Place Livable assignment.
You’ll either need to use your own camera, or check out one from the classroom.
Once you’ve taken the photos assigned to you by your group, you’ll need to upload them to our flickr group page: http://www.flickr.com/groups/geo706/
Click Join This Group, and then follow all the steps. You will need to provide an email address. Please follow the safety guidelines we’ve covered in class.
Once I’ve gotten your request, I’ll let you into the group, and you can follow the procedures for uploading photos.
Okay, once you’ve been accepted and logged in and are looking at your home page, go to the top of the page and click on GROUPS (top center of screen)
Touch the arrow and from the drop down menu click MY GROUPS.
Click on Geography_706.
Click ADD SOMETHING.
Then go through the steps we’ve practiced before for uploading photos.
Once you’ve uploaded your photos, everyone in your group has access to them, and will be able to put them on our geography706 wikispaces page.
